Boroboro Low Table
The Boroboro Low Table celebrates impermanence and the quiet dignity of mended things. It is a meditation on imperfection, repair, and the subtle poetry of material contrast.
Its round top is composed of multiple offcuts of Claro walnut, each chosen for its unique grain and character. Remnant live edge interrupts the perimeter—left intentionally unresolved to invite pause and closer attention.
Inlaid keys of rosewood and ebony, along with visible patchwork, reveal the process rather than conceal it. These acts of repair draw from Japanese traditions of mending and honoring wear. The name—Boroboro—pays homage to Boro textiles: cloths patched and reinforced through generations of use.
Set on minimal turned legs with patinated bronze feet and finished by hand to a soft sheen, the table feels grounded yet open—an object that holds memory, embraces imperfection, and becomes a quiet anchor in the rhythm of daily life.
